What is MyChart?

MyChart offers patients personalized and secure on-line access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely use the Internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can use the Internet to:

  • Request medical appointments.
  • View your health summary from the MyChart electronic health record.
  • View test results.
  • Request prescription renewals.
  • Access health information resources.
  • Communicate electronically and securely with your medical care team. All MyChart communications are part of the medical record.

Is there a fee to use MyChart?

MyChart is a free service offered to our patients.

How do I sign up?

Patients who wish to participate will be issued a MyChart Activation Code during their clinic visit. This code will enable you to login and create your own username and password. If you were not issued an Activation Code during your last office visit, ask to sign up during your next office visit or call the MyChart Support phone number at the top of this page.

When can I see my lab test results in MyChart?

Your test results are released to your MyChart account after your health care provider has reviewed and manually released them or automatically (in some cases after a brief delay to allow your provider to interpret them). Note that not all test results are available for viewing online. These include some radiology and pathology results as well as results (from any department) considered to be sensitive or requiring prior discussion with your provider. If you do not see expected results within a reasonable period of time, you should contact your clinic directly to inquire.

Why are certain lab test results not shared electronically via MyChart?

Not all test results are available for viewing online. These include Radiology results (MRI, CT, X-Ray, etc.) as well as results (from any department) considered to be sensitive or requiring prior discussion with your provider. If you do not see expected results within a reasonable period of time, you should call your clinic directly to inquire.

If some of my health information on MyChart is not correct, what should I do?

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your health care provider's office. You can send a MyChart message asking the provider to correct your medical record or call your clinic directly. Alternately, you can have the provider update the information at your next clinic visit.

If I send a message to my health care provider, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within three business days. Please note that MyChart should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your provider directly if the situation requires immediate attention. For emergencies, call 911.

Can I view a family member's health record in MyChart?

Where legally permitted and available, parents or legal guardians may request proxy access to view their child's record. Access may not be available at every location and is granted only after completing a carefully controlled verification and documentation process. Ask at your clinic or call Customer Support for more information. Once you have been granted proxy access, you access your child's information by logging into your own MyChart account. Proxy access for the legal representative of a caregiver of an adult may also be available.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MyChart account?

Information communicated about another family member through your online account might, for technical or legal reasons, remain in your record only. If you have health questions or information about another family member, please discuss these directly, in person or by phone, with your provider so that pertinent information may also be updated in your family member's health record if necessary. Alternately, if you have proxy access to your child's account as described above, you may ask questions on their behalf from within their account.

Can my spouse and I share one MyChart account or provide a shared e-mail address?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each patient must establish their own MyChart account. Each patient must also provide a unique e-email address that is not shared. If you require proxy access to another patient's account for whom you are a legal guardian or representative, please ask about extablishing proxy access from within your own MyChart account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new Activation Code as I have lost it, let it expire, or did not receive it?

Call the MyChart Support phone number at the top of this page.

Where can I update my e-mail address or change my password?

Log into MyChart. From the menu, go to Profile and choose either "Personal Information" to change your e-mail address or "Security Settings" to change your password.

How is MyChart secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure Activation Codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their own password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Further, MyChart uses the latest encryption technology to automatically encrypt your session with MyChart. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

Please read our Notice of Privacy Practices. MyChart is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your health records and other personal information will never be sold or leased by our organization.

I was logged out of MyChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyChart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyChart. We recommend that you log out of your MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MyChart?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date web browser.

My Activation Code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your Activation Code expires after 90 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you have problems, call the MyChart Support phone number at the top of this page.

Is my Activation Code my username?

No, your Activation Code is not your username or password. You will use this code only once to activate your account. When you activate your account, you will be asked to create your own unique MyChart username and password.
